CHARACTER INFO
Character: Napoléon Bonaparte
Canon: Fate/Grand Order, Post Traum Story Chapter and Eight Dog Chronicles Event (best place to read about that consistantly, is oddly… TV Tropes)
Age: Appears Late 20s to Early 30s, let’s go… 27?
Background Information: Yeah, He’s that Napoleon.
Yeah. That one. You know, First Emperor of France, took over most of Europe, shot the Sphinx’s nose off with a Cannon, tried to fight Russia during the Winter, Waterloo, that guy.
Well, sorta? Fate/Grand Order’s Archer Class Servant Napoleon is not s not the actual Historical Napoleon in personality/self, as much as the ‘idealized’ Napoleon his Cult of Personality believes in.
In the Fate Series, Heroic Spirits, those humans (usually) who made a significant impact on human history, are inscribed on the ‘Throne of Heroes’ for all of time, and then when they’re ‘needed’ by the world, have their self ‘copy pasted’ into the current era via magical summoning. But Heroic Spirits aren’t just perfect copies of their original, historical selves; they can be deeply influenced by what part of their legend is focused on, or what humanity believes about them, true or false. And the more ‘modern’ a Servant is, the more they tend to become a caricature of the person over an accurate representation.
Napoleon in this form is a figure created by the collective concept of ‘Possibility’, able to make the Impossible, Possible. The idea of the apex of what is truly 'possible' for ‘humanity', as Napoleon was able to do in his life time what many considered to be impossible. So when he’s summoned as Archer Class Servant, he’s always looking to answer someone’s hopes and dreams. (As a note, if you wanted a version of him closer to the actual historical Napoleon, that’d be his Rider Class self).
This version of Napoleon was summoned by the Humanity Restoring organization, Chaldea, in an effort to restore human history (and by extension, humanity) to it’s proper place after an unknown being bleached the Earth white in the second half of Fate/Grand Order’s storyline. He does not remember the events of the 2nd Lostbelt where he was originally summoned, but there some things that still linger. The events of Traum has just occured, along with The Nanmei Yumihari Hakkenden event.
Introduction into Fate Grand Order
Personality: Please answer the following questions about your character. Be as clear as possible, and provide examples where you can. You can format this section as either 1) individual sections for each question; or 2) a more freeform essay/paragraph that covers all the topics. Please do not exceed 1200 words total.
1) Tell us about who your character is and what someone’s first impression would be upon meeting them.
So if you hear his name, and know who historically he is, you’d probably get whiplash from how this Napoleon acts and looks.
This Napoleon is bombastic, gregarious, and an absolute fucking himbo. Just straight up. Open army jacket and vest showing off his chest with scars, side burns, a big grin on his face.
Pure of heart, Broad of chest, Dumb of ass.
Well, he’s actually a lot smarter than he lets on; he is a military leader and tactician, after all, and it’s noted in a lot of his scenes he’s defusing possible conflicts in Chaldea, either by distracting, being charming or a dumbass. So you’d likely think he was just a big bombastic idiot, at first, only to slowly catch on ‘oh wait, there IS more in there.
2) What is a driving force your character has? What goals do they have, what motivates them, etc?
The most important thing to know about Napoleon is that when he is summoned, he exists to help fulfil the hopes and wishes of his summoner. To be the Hero they need and help them move forward, and protect humanity. He is absolutely willing to put himself in harms way or sacrifice himself, if it’ll help someone else. He’s put behind all the desires and regrets of the original historical Napoleon and lives for the future and present, the here and now.
3) What are their flaws as a character? What is something they've messed up, or have done that they regret?
So there’s two parts of to his flaws. One is his obvious flaws; he tends to flirt overtly with any woman he finds attractive. He does have limits and will stop if people ask, but he’s an (attempted) Charmer. He claims during every manifestations he falls inlove with a new woman, but that hasn’t exactly happened yet in his Chaldea summoning…
Also he tends to be hot headed and make quick decisions based on that, including taunting a dangerous opponent, or firing too haphazardly during battles. It’s actually noted he tends to burn himself out completely when he’s summoned to help his master, and thus nothing about his times summoned make it back to become records on the Throne of Heroes— with the exception of a particular name.
But, his more serious regrets are something a bit more subtle, noticed during quiet moments in the game with him. Servants by nature are just copy pastes of the original ‘data’ on the Throne of Heroes. They’re created with all memories intact of their historical selves, but how much that feels like ‘memories’ they experienced, and how much that feels like ‘records’ they’ve read is something that comes up frequently. Napoleon notes he remembers everything Napoleon did, but not how he felt about those actions. And Napoleon did a lot of problematic things, to say the least.
As the Heroic Spirit Napoleon, he cannot change the things his original self did. All he can do is move forward with that burden of loss of life and cruel political decisions. But that can still weigh on a man, and exploring that side of him; those regrets, those heavy thoughts and how you live with them when you never asked to, is a really fun aspect to play with.
4) Optional: What is something unique and interesting about them, or what is a fun little tidbit that sets them apart from the crowd?
He’s the only one who calls the Master of Chaldea/Player character ‘Maitre’ and likes to sprinkle french into his dialogue, despite there being other notable French Servants. He likes a good wine and different sorts of food, while the historical Napoleon was notorious for no drinking very much at all, and only eating one chicken dish over and over again.
Also, he tends to reflect what other people need to see in him or want to see in him; his innate nature is to be what other people need. So trying to define who he is can be another interesting part of his existance.
Abilities & Inventory:
Inventory: His giant Cannon Weapon (which he can materialize and dematerialize), a case full of cuban cigars, and the book he was reading.
Abilities: Servant Physiology
All Servants have a distinct physiology that you may need to nerf. One can argue that the natural magic in Escordvi leaves him more vulnerable than Fate/’s universe, but he probably, for example, would be able to take punches from regular human like they’re a cat swatting at him with no claws out.
Passive Skills:
Independant Action C- If he is cut off from an outside mana source or his master, he can last a day on Earth before vanishing back to the Throne of Heroes.
Magic Resistance C- Able to resist a certain strength level of magical spells, can see through illusions.
Active Skills:
Triumphant Charisma B - Able to give himself an attack boost along with whoever he’s fighting with thanks to his Legendary Charisma, especially upon returns from Campaigns.
Fire Support (Cannon) B+ - Basically offers Artillerary Support to Allies, allowing more critical hits and bigger final attacks.
Light of Possibilities B - it is not a symbol of the fact that he had done impossible things like "Pioneer of the Stars", but makes him into the embodiment of "expectations" and "possibilities" so he can do impossible things. The power to change history itself, pushing him to the limit of what is thought possible for humans, and beyond it. In game this gives him the ability to pierce ‘invincibility’, allow him to go critical damage more easily, and charges his ultimate weapon, his Noble Phantasm.
Imperial Privilege: B
As an Emperor Servant, Napoleon can, temporarily, have due to the insistence of the owner, Skills that are essentially impossible to possess can be obtained for a short period of time. Telepathy being one example, another being able to remove curses despite not being a Mage or Caster. This can fail, of course.
Noble Phantasm: Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile - Napoleon turns his giant Cannon (which he fights with by either firing cannon balls at enemies, smacking them with it, shooting a laser or turning it into a gataling gun) into a giant rainbow Laser firing device that turns Human Possibility into a literal Rainbow Laser Shell, and using Napoleon’s very being as it’s base, shoots out to strike all enemies. It’s especially powerful against divine enemies, since it borrows from the legend that Napoleon broke the Sphinx nose with cannon fire. Takes a lot of energy to fire, and can’t instantly use it again.

ARMADA SELECTION
Choose between Corsairs or Paladins and include a brief blurb explaining why.
I have been debating this, and frankly, Napoleon could easily slip into Paladins or Corsairs.
Napoleon is known as Neutral-Good in game, and is very compassionate (which he notes is not how his original self was like), so working with the Paladins to help others would be right up his alley. Considering Chaldeas entire purpose is to save humanity and restore it, helping protect others and read new books/research they bring in would appeal to him.
However. Napoleon is also prone to being hot blooded and flying by the seat of his pants. He’s more of a leader than a follower, and a desire for freedom could be an interesting thing for him to play with. He’s not opposed to hanging out with the ‘evil’ servants like James Moriarty or Sir Mordred and can fit just about anywhere, able to ease conversations back to a comfortable level regardless of who he talks to if it’s what needs to be done.
So really, leaving it up to the mods choice!
