[The voice is one that hasn't been heard in a while, sounding as if they only just now woke up, before they clear their throat and start over.]

Can someone confirm for me the date, and then explain to me how exactly I apparently slept for nearly six weeks--what in the deep blue sea happened for that to be to be the case, and what have I missed up to now? Did I seriously end up missing my own birthday...? Should I be concerned that I've apparently been asleep for so long, or has there been cases of people here that have suddenly ended up in a coma here for just as long before?

[Also is the Mostro Lounge okay, someone please tell him that it's been looked after while he was asleep...]

[The video comes from Fine Arts House's kitchen, where all the windows are open despite the Solarpeak heat and a pile of dishes is drying in the sink. Rinku looks exhausted, far from her usual energy.]

So I kinda had a question. I didn't really used to cook a lot until I started looking after other people, so how do you find things to eat that everyone is gonna love? Especially if you have a bunch of people who like really different things.

I don't wanna make the kids unhappy, but sometimes I wanna make something spicy 'cause it reminds me of home. Like this one time Neechan was over and I tried my best to learn how to make tteokbokki like she had back where she's from, but it was so spicy Mecchan cried and Mary-chan got in a panic 'cause "food shouldn't hurt." Also Frills-kun is kinda grumpy but he only really likes when I put out fruits and nuts, and sometimes when I introduce a new food, Mimi-chan runs and hides until someone else has eaten some...

And, uh... anyone want some blood soup? Hina-chan was really excited and she just loved it, but everyone else thought it was super gross and we had to give up eating ours and order in. Now the kitchen smells really bad too...

The case of the missing notifications

I keep forgetting to post about this: we've been troubleshooting the "missing notifications" problem for the past few days. (Well, I say "we", really I mean Mark and Robby; I'm just the amanuensis.) It's been one of those annoying loops of "find a logical explanation for what could be causing the problem, fix that thing, observe that the problem gets better for some people but doesn't go away completely, go back to step one and start again", sigh.

Mark is hauling out the heavy debugging ordinance to try to find the root cause. Once he's done building all the extra logging tools he needs, he'll comment to this entry. After he does, if you find a comment that should have gone to your inbox and sent an email notification but didn't, leave him a link to the comment that should have sent the notification, as long as the comment itself was made after Mark says he's collecting them. (I'd wait and post this after he gets the debug code in but I need to go to sleep and he's not sure how long it will take!)

We're sorry about the hassle! Irregular/sporadic issues like this are really hard to troubleshoot because it's impossible to know if they're fixed or if they're just not happening while you're looking. With luck, this will give us enough information to figure out the root cause for real this time.

I overheard an interesting conversation while at a coffee shop in Amberfall this afternoon.

[Interesting enough that it seems he wants to bring it to everyone's attention.]

Two customers debating over whether or not water has a 'taste'.

[And what a funny thing to have a debate over to begin with.]

And I found myself curious as to which side most people would fall on in such an argument... as well as if anyone else here experiences water in the same way that I do. [Now, that's the real point of this.] As something that carries memory, the experience and emotion of everything it has passed through. The water from each region of this world is entirely unique to me in more ways than its flavour profile.

[A brief pause.]

Such an... ability is unusual in my home world. I have never thought to ask if others here have it.

The video feed is, strangely, of a television set. One with large cyan on red eyes and a wide smile showing on it's screen. It has antennae sprouting from the top of it and... wait... is that shoulders? A neck? The TV's smile widens, showing rows of sharp teeth. The figure leans back in his chair, spreading his arms wide for a moment as he does.

"Hello, Ellipsa!" Bright and cheerful, his tone is friendly and warm. "I figured it was a good time to introduce myself and start getting the word out there~"

He straightens forward again, folding his hands on the desk, neatly.

"My name is Vox and I'm the founder and CEO of Voxtek, the most trusted and influential name in entertainment and technology! At least, back where I come from it is, of course. I've been informed that I was brought here to help out with the Darkness plaguing this world and, while that's a noble cause and all, I also come with a set of talents that could be used for so much more!"

He brings his hands up, steepling his clawed fingers together.

"First and foremost, I am a journalist and entertainer. I'm planning to start not only a regular news and information broadcast service, I would also like to begin creating new and exciting television and streaming shows! We may all be here to help save the world but why shouldn't we also be entertained and dazzled at the same time?"

He gestures at the screen with his held together hands.

"That's where you all come in! I'm looking for talent! Theater. Music. Arts. Film. But also things such as technology and computer science! The people of Ellipsa deserve the very best of tech not only to take on their dangerous missions but also for their downtime! I'm looking for inventors and creators. People who want to make waves in the world of technology. Together, we can bring Ellipsa a brighter future in more ways than simply fighting this Darkness!"

He smiles, charmingly, bringing a hand to his chest.

"I built a company that brought joy and information to the hopeless masses once. Here, I have the opportunity to do something similar. I hope you all will join me and get in on the ground level of the new Voxtek~"

Welcome to the Test Drive Meme for

escordvi! Anyone can participate in the test drive, regardless of invite eligibility. Just keep in mind that only those who have had their invitations approved by the mods can actually reserve on April 24 and apply on May 1st. Our EMP/ATP can be found here.

For your toplevel, please include the following: Character Name | Canon | Armada Choice | TDM (IF TDMING). Current players can use the same header, just without the "TDM" label. We do require those who are TDMin'g to include the label so other players can distinguish between others.

For everyone's convenience, TDM threads can be carried over in game if you wish! If you are still unsure which armada to place your character, you can play it a bit loose and vague in the TDM and make retroactive changes if you carry over the threads. The log itself is set to cover starting from April 1st until the end of the month. Characters will appear at random intervals during this time rather than all at once, so players have some more flexibility on how much more adjusted they are for someone else.

ENABLE ME TIMBERS: APRIL 2026

YO HO HO EVERYONE! This is an ATP/EMP post where players can make cast requests for people to app into, or make ads for characters they are considering bringing into the game. It works like any other ATP/EMP, but we do have a few things to note down:

» Invitations are required to reserve and apply! But you can go ahead and post to the ATP/EMP post with a note you need an invite. You can either rely on a current player for help, or you can directly request an invite from the mods.

» We have a 65 player cap.

» Players can only app 2 characters at once with a max limit of 3 in game. But since this is an ATP/EMP, feel free to put more if you're having trouble deciding!

» Our Game Info should cover everything you need, from basic premise summary to the nitty gritty details of the game mechanics. If you have any questions, post them there.

» Just want to make it clear that this is not a claims page. While we give priority to whoever is on the Reserve list, we do allow app challenges, and there is no rule against multiple players TDMing the same character. Of course we don't want there to be too much conflict, so everyone please be polite no matter who it is.

» TDM is Saturday, April 11. This TDM will double as our Something's Fishy event, but we will include a traditional "starter prompt" for TDM specific characters. Everything will be carried over as canon!

Sooooo, like, what does everyone do for fun around here?

Anyway, what I really wanted to ask was... y'know, if there a god around here that we can talk to? This place is super cool and stuff but I was actually doing some really important shit back home and traveling to another plane was not on my list of things to do that day.

Jester puffs out her cheeks before releasing a loud huff of air— Ahaha! Whoa! I am so not going to get use to that.

I mean, I would speak to my god about it but none of my messages are going through. [ She stops for a half a beat before correcting: ] He's super busy right now, though! Where did you come from?

[An Ice Maiden is following him, a cool smile on her lips as she weaves her magic. Frost clings to Xingchen's white robes and his steps become sluggish. He drops Shuanghua and turns just in time avoid the Maiden's embrace.]

I have here a sheet of metal salvaged from a submarine found in the underwater city that is of an unknown alloy. Whilst I do have workers of my own analysing it, surely there must be someone for whom this metal is familiar.
